I want to share a clear moment that changed everything. The result answers: What Inspires Me?
What inspires me to focus on living life to the fullest with happiness even when I know others are suffering around me? We all have reasons for how we live, with different perspectives and beliefs about life. Some feel wounded, others determined or confused or grateful. I want to share something with you – my clear inspiration. My father escaped Lithuania in 1939 with a miraculous story involving only three days advance notice to get out as Nazi’s approached. He had no money or documents to travel or immigrate. His incredible journey is one that I am documenting and will share later. Horribly, his family was murdered by the Nazi’s in killing pits, shot after experiencing excruciating fear and torture. My dad’s later life was full of internal pain known as Survivors Guilt, that manifested into many heart operations and other physical ailments. He once acknowledged that it was as if he needed to feel pain to honor their pain that they could not escape from. Yes, he knew angels watched over him with many blessings of escaping danger, but the horror for his family haunted his heart, mind, and spirit. My sisters and I watched him carefully, and often with concern. In the 1980’s I began to ask him questions about his life, his town, his family, learning one detail at a time. In 1987, he mailed to each of his four daughter a gut-wrenching manuscript of about 100 pages with photos included. He was finally sharing with us his story of how he escaped, his family's tragedy, and the search for family his whole life. I sobbed and choked with sadness as I read his vivid details without stopping, through the night and the next day. The manuscript honored and shared his story and that of his family, so his daughters would know them. Fast forward over 20 years, I was enjoying my own active life, family and career, yet I found myself still watching my father with admiration, sorrow, and amazement over what he had accomplished since his early years. In 2008, I had a hypnotic experience that may be called metaphysical or spiritual where I was taken on a path and found myself in a horrible place, in a silent line for the gas chambers of Nazi rule. I felt numbing sadness and helplessness, with my head hanging low as I shuffled in the death march line. Suddenly, my family who had been murdered crowded into a distant view, huddled together in their heavy old-world clothes, calling out to me. They shouted: “Stand up! Rise up! You don't have to carry this burden for us, we've already suffered. You don't have to carry our burden or sadness. We get so much joy watching you! You are doing so many wonderful things and enjoying life. Keep doing that, we love watching you! We see the wonderful things you have done. We see them. We know. We want you to be happy and celebrate in this life. You do not have to be burdened by our sadness.” That was it. From that moment forward, my life perspective changed. I was not responsible to carry life's burdens. My purpose was to enjoy life to the fullest, just keep doing that. I was helping my ancestors, they loved it. Plus, I can inspire others to live life to the fullest. To focus on joy and gratitude and what we have to be thankful for. Thank you, ancestors, for releasing me from that burden of responsibility. I don’t have to carry sadness. I can choose to focus on fun, joy, gratitude. So, that's my inspiration to keep saying, I'm doing this. For them, for me, for you, for those that follow us. I will share when this book of my father’s life is available. It is a huge project. I only work on it when I feel desire and interest, not burden of obligation. Enjoy life today! You may just inspire someone else! Love, Nancy

Is it more exciting to pursue what you love than actually have it?
Let’s say you have a desire (you know, great health, wealth, relationship, home, job, location, etc.) The feelings for it create excitement for what is possible, what can be. You like that feeling of excitement for receiving desires – it’s fun, mysterious, surprising for when, how, where it will arrive. When the desire begins to be fulfilled, we no longer have the feelings of want that originate deep within. Sometimes we can get attached to liking the “lack” of a desire because the lack of it produces the feeling of excitement for what can be! Not having our desire gives us a focus to pursue. It gives us something to WANT, life force, purpose, goal, and feelings of excitement imagining it. Our mind is in the future. However, at some point we wake up and want to feel fulfillment in the present moment, Now! How can we nurture feelings of excitement or joy in the present moment? One way is to make a list of when present moment joy is felt and include that in our present: • A blue-sky clear day soaking in fresh air and sunshine • Live music, dancing • Enlightening conversation with a friend • Staring at the ocean, feeling the breeze • Creating artistically • Being quiet, still, eyes closed, breathing deeply, calm Instead of wanting the feeling of excitement for a desire, how about creating feelings of fulfillment in the present moment? I love synchronicity. Last night, after exploring desires, my eyes found a movie titled: Hector and the Search for Happiness. Christopher Plummer says at the end: Instead of “pursuit of happiness,” humans tend to focus on the “happiness of pursuit.” You never get there with that behavior, it’s always beyond your experience because you love the pursuit of it. What is the cause of that focus on pursuit? Maybe a belief that it isn’t really possible because you haven’t experienced it yet? Maybe a parent demonstrated or said it’s not possible? Messages can be etched in our subconscious with invisible ink, surfacing and we don’t see it. Being aware of our behavior, embracing and exploring it, can change how we feel through exposure of it. Journaling is so helpful in exploring a thought, asking questions, and honestly answering. We may feel fear that we may fail at nourishing and allowing our desire in. A lifelong journey of experiences demonstrates that, yes, we can learn as long as we are open. Look around. See evidence, feel your breath in this moment to bring you back to the present. Our paths allow that which we desire and allow us to enjoy every moment now. We don’t have to wait for it, wish for it, imagine it. Look around and see it Now. You’ve got this! I had an “aha” connection – love those!
It’s about science verifying ooey-wooey vibrational energy. Hold on to your surfboard… let’s explore this. It may have the answer to how your thoughts are helping or hurting you. I'm in a green tropical land. I mean, I really am. It's not just something I'm imagining in my mind. Years ago, I envisioned where I wanted to be. It was a green tropical land where I was relaxed, flowing along happily in life. I didn’t know where this place was or when or how I’d get there. Now, my eyes shoot open to see that I am in this photo, for real. Aloha, Hawaii. It wasn’t a straight line to get here, from thought to reality. It was very wiggly with detours and many unknowns. Passion and desire for the idea and belief that it was possible, regardless of when, where, or how, were key. Enter the Law of Attraction. Don’t run off! Hold on, explore this with me. From the expert on this: “As you think, you vibrate. And it is your vibrational offering that equals your point of attraction. So, what you are thinking and what is coming back to you is always a vibrational match. The emotion (your Guidance System) is telling you what’s coming.” Esther Hicks/ Abraham Translation: Our thoughts vibrate unseen energy from our bodies (we’re electromagnetic) and, if the energy is strong enough from focus, enthusiasm, and belief it’s possible, we attract similar energy. Whether you are imagining or really living your thought, the vibration from your body is the same. When it’s an awesome focused thought, it’s an awesome positive vibrational energy. People, information, or opportunities appear as if like magic. You may have witnessed someone excited by an idea exuding positive energy and belief and see them attracting helpful people, information and opportunities. It really stems back to belief in what is possible and being open to detours and alternative solutions, eh? Let's keep going. We're almost to the brain/mind part. Unfortunately, when you have negative thoughts and beliefs, you attract similar negative energy to yourself. (We’ll get to why this occurs below.) When you don’t believe your idea is possible, energy fades and few connections or matches arise. Or worse, things get very uncomfortable. Lessons may need to be learned to shift. Or, maybe the idea or thought was not in your best interest. Your vibration subconsciously pushes the idea away. You are likely not doing this intentionally. If you really WANT the desire, notice your thoughts. They are vibrating energy that attracts like energy. Bring in the brain science! Research shows that our brains don’t know the difference between imagining something or really living it. (Just like vibrational energy discussed above - the same vibration is released regardless if it’s only thought or reality.) The brain responds to a thought and real experience of the thought with release of the same neurochemicals. (For example, are you in an argument with your partner right now or just imagining you’re arguing?) When it’s an awesome positive thought, we receive feel-good chemicals released into our bloodstream that may relax, excite, or cause us to feel loving connection. While the body is feeling, the mind wants to verify and validate focused thoughts, connecting new neural pathways, firing synapses, creating more awareness, searching for examples that bring more of our thoughts and what we’re looking for into our realm. (Same as Law of Attraction’s vibrational energy at work, like attracts like. Mind searches for evidence of same. Bingo!) When the thought is fear or worry, the brain assumes DANGER-FIGHT-RUN, neurochemicals release to respond to the danger, yet there is no real event, it’s only a thought. Our body is stressed by the build-up of neurochemicals and adrenaline with no real event of danger to use them. The mind looks for verification and validation of more bad experiences, finding them everywhere and feeling the impossibility of goodness. An unhealthy pattern of the mind and body ensues. (Vibrational energy from Law of Attraction does the same. Negativity attracts more negativity. You get what you're thinking about.) This is why thoughts matter. Thoughts result in chemicals released into our bodies that can help us relax or get fired up. We need to use those chemicals for action towards what we WANT, not what we don’t want. Our bodies are electromagnetic with a pulse, heartbeat, and respond to thoughts with vibration. You can tell when someone is calm or tense. This vibration is released out into your world, pushing people away, or attracting like energy. Meanwhile, our minds search for validation of the thought (such as, life is joyous or life is a burden) resulting in attraction of people or occurrences with similar beliefs and validation is successful. When we take action to support the thought, we accelerate the vibration (Law of Attraction) and accelerate the evidence of validation for the mind. Example: We believe the thought is possible so we take action until we receive evidence to our mind that it is possible. The opposite occurs also. We have some fears and take action until we receive evidence that validates our fears. You may believe more in Law of Attraction than the brain/mind stuff. Or vice versa. Both are cool. So, that was my aha! I know, now it seems so common-sense and logical (at least to me.) I then did a little research and found this isn’t a new discovery. No surprise there. However, reading the articles felt bland and non-sensical compared to mapping the connection in my own mind. It was a firecracker exploding with connections that made complete sense! That’s why often telling someone something is useless. They need to create the neural connections with their own experience or learning to attain understanding. To sum it up, the brain and mind are at work chemically, structurally and electro-magnetically responding to our focused thoughts. The more passion and time thinking, the more neural pathways are firing looking for verification, until it becomes hard-wired into a self-truth, belief, or reality. The same is true for matching vibrational energies via the Law of Attraction. The more we practice positive thoughts of our desires, the more positive energy flows to us bringing us our desires in multiple forms (often not in the way we imagined, so stay openminded.) Look ahead to possibilities, not backwards. Find gratitude in the present moment to stir up positive vibration and the mind will search for evidence of more positive elements. Bonus: Don’t like how you feel? Change your thoughts! How? Change what you’re looking at, what you’re reading, who you are with, what you are doing and saying, what you are eating or drinking. Intervene in the neural pathway with a new thought, a new picture and action. Disrupt the thought or pattern that is not working for you. Disrupt it with something new that is emotionally pleasing, making you want to do it, see it, feel it, again. (That’s how habits are changed or formed, the reward of how you feel.) Woohoo, I’m excited! The neural pathways are firing. All of a sudden, ideas are popping, boom, boom, boom. Part 2 of this thought is in the works. I just had to stir it up to make neural connections. If you would like to see examples of how the brain/mind and Law of Attraction worked together to magically deliver a dream, to the point that the responsiveness of solutions to unknowns, and positive outcomes were comical, check out I Am Doing This! Please check back for future blogs and Share this with someone who thinks thoughts. Mahalo! Nancy Rosenfeld P.S. FYI, in 2009 I began a path to understand how the brain works. I was fascinated if intuition was real or the brain was at work. Interviews, conferences, books, and watching 20 DVDs with a neuroscience professor, led me to understand how the brain works from our thoughts. I've been learning more ever since! |
